Last year AKB48 has unfortunately not been invited to NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen for 2nd consecutive year.
That ending their 11-12 consecutive years of them appearing on NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen.
In 2020 is the first year where no 48 Group has been invited to participate in the yearly tradition.
And in the other news, after 11 years of ‘Excellent Work Award’ and nominations for the Grand Prix Prize, AKB48 has not been included in Japan Record Awards 2022.
