Shanghai Shangyue Culture Development Co., Ltd., the management company for AKB48 Team SH, has officially released a statement addressing a breach of contract by Shen Ying, a member of the group.
The statement, dated 21 November 2024, outlines the unauthorised participation of Shen Ying in a performance-related activity on 15 November 2024 without the management’s written approval.
This action, according to the company, violates her exclusive artist contract.
The company emphasised its disappointment in Shen Ying’s actions and detailed the measures taken in response.
These include holding the artist accountable for damages incurred, informing all collaborators of the breach, and reserving the right to pursue legal action to protect its interests.
Management apologised for any inconvenience caused to their partners and the public, reaffirming their commitment to upholding industry standards and improving artist oversight to avoid future incidents.
"Artists must adhere to the contractual terms and demonstrate professionalism," the statement read, highlighting the need for trust and compliance in their working relationships.
