JKT48 member Callista Alifia has been indefinitely suspended from group activities following a recent rule violation, according to a statement released by JKT48’s Operation Team.
The decision comes after new findings were revealed regarding Callista's behaviour, specifically in connection with a recent viral video clip showing her attending a Halloween party where she was seen kissing a man.
The incident, which has sparked widespread online attention, reportedly took place at a birthday celebration hosted by an Indonesian influencer.
The official statement, titled "Pengumuman Mengenai Aktivitas Callista Alifia", confirms that Callista’s suspension will remain in effect until further notice.
During this period, her fan votes for the JKT48 26th Single Member Election will still be counted, although she will not be able to appear in any public events or media performances, including theatre shows, events, and broadcasts.
As a consequence of this suspension, JKT48 also announced a refund for fans who had previously purchased tickets for the Video Call with JKT48 event featuring Callie in November 2024.
Full details of the refund process are expected to be shared shortly by the management team.
The statement closed with a request for continued support from JKT48 fans, despite this challenging situation, emphasising the group’s commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and adherence to JKT48’s rules.
This incident marks Callista Alifia’s second violation within the year; she was previously suspended from May until August 2024 for breaching the group’s rules.
Over the past week, fans have expressed anger and disappointment, urging JKT48 management to issue a statement regarding her actions, viewing the situation as unfair to other members, past and present, who faced similar consequences.
