Ju Jingyi's Trademark Rights Under STAR48 Siba Media Control Amid Contract Dispute.
Siba Media, also known as STAR48, has announced that it retains the rights over Ju Jingyi’s name as a trademark, emphasising that the popular artist remains under its management.
In a statement, Siba clarified that Ju Jingyi's contract, along with any associated agreements, has yet to expire, asserting that Ju Jingyi is still legally bound to the agency.
They further indicated plans to pursue legal action for breach of contract.
According to the China National Intellectual Property Administration, Siba Media has registered several trademarks under the name “Ju Jingyi.”
These filings were made by Shanghai Siba Performing Arts Management Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Siba Media.
In addition to trademark rights, Siba Media secured domain names such as ju-jingyi.com, ju-jingyi.cn, and ju-jingyi.com.cn back in 2022.
The dispute centres around Ju Jingyi’s alleged breach of contract, with Siba Media determined to defend its ownership over her professional identity and any potential revenue generated under her name.
Should Siba Media prevail in the case, Ju Jingyi could face significant financial penalties, potentially requiring substantial compensation.
