ZAIKO Collaborates with AKB48 to Modernise Ticketing System

Tokyo-based ticketing platform ZAIKO has announced an exciting collaboration with the popular Japanese idol group AKB48 to modernise the ticketing system for AKB48's events and livestream performances.

In this initiative, ZAIKO aims to streamline ticket distribution and enhance fan convenience by transitioning from traditional paper tickets to an all-digital format.

Starting with the grand reopening of the AKB48 Theatre, all tickets will be issued exclusively in electronic form.

Fans attending AKB48's performances can now use their smartphones for seamless entry, making it easier and faster to access events.

As part of this update, cash and QR code payments (such as PayPay and LinePay) at theatre counters will no longer be accepted.

In their place, ZAIKO has introduced payment options via credit cards and convenience store transactions, offering more accessible and flexible payment solutions for fans.

To further support a smooth transition, AKB48 members already holding a group ID will not need to re-register on the new site.

ZAIKO has prioritised this seamless experience by providing detailed migration guidance and support to fans, ensuring all previous data is integrated without disruption.

Users will receive clear instructions about the transition process well in advance.

With this upgrade, AKB48 fans can expect a more efficient and flexible experience when securing tickets, whether for live events or livestreamed performances.

ZAIKO and AKB48's collaboration marks a new era of digitalisation in the fan experience, bringing more convenience to fans across Japan and internationally.
