143 Entertainment Scandal: Backlash Over Unpaid MV Fees, Wage Claims

A recent report has highlighted a growing scandal involving an unnamed entertainment agency accused of unpaid production fees and wages.

Allegedly, the agency has withheld tens of millions of KRW owed to around 40 staff members who worked on a music video for the agency’s idol group, which debuted in September.

Speculation points to 143 Entertainment and their group MADEIN due to hints like the mention of a "natural version" of the music video.

Reports claim the agency delayed over half of the payments for more than three months and pressured the production company to reduce the owed fees, threatening defamation lawsuits otherwise.

The agency justified its stance by citing financial losses attributed to issues with the music video, possibly linked to AI use, and alleged contract breaches.

However, the production company disputes these claims, stating no evidence has been provided.

The controversy adds to the agency’s existing troubles, including prior allegations of harassment.

The entertainment world now awaits further developments as calls for accountability grow louder.
