AKB48 has officially unveiled its 20th Generation Kenkyuusei, marking a historic moment for the iconic idol group.
The new generation consists of only three members, setting a record as the smallest in AKB48 history.
The announcement came with a VTR reveal introducing the trainees:
- Kondō Saki (Kosaki), aged 12, the youngest current member of AKB48.
- Ōga Saki (Saachan), aged 18.
- Maruyama Hinata (Maruchan), aged 16.
This generation stands out for several unique characteristics: it is the first to feature only three members and the first where all members were born after AKB48’s debut in 2005.
With Kondō Saki taking the title of AKB48’s youngest active member and the debut of the surname "Maruyama" within the group, fans are excited to see what these newcomers will bring to the stage.
Notably, two out of three members share the name "Saki," creating a charming connection among them.
