A 20-year-old bakery worker from Osaka has become the toast of Japan after winning the "Beautiful Girl Song Festival 2024".
Kokoro Saki triumphed over 1,300 applicants to claim the top prize at the grand final held in Tokyo on December 7.
Her victory secures her an enviable reward: an original song and music video produced and released by Avex, one of Japan’s leading music labels.
For Saki, who works at a local bakery, this marks the beginning of a potentially glittering music career.
Judges praised her performance for its emotional depth and vocal precision, which captured the hearts of both the panel and the audience.
Speaking after her win, Saki expressed her gratitude and excitement, saying, "This opportunity feels like a dream come true. I’m ready to give my best in the music world."
