Kiriyama Akito (35), a member of the popular J-Pop group WEST., and Kano Maiko (36), a former Japanese national volleyball player, have announced their marriage.
Kano shared the joyful news via her Instagram on 3rd January, expressing gratitude to fans and supporters.
In her post, Kano wrote, “I, Kano Maiko, am delighted to announce my marriage to Kiriyama Akito.”
She continued, “Though still learning, we will support each other and strive to grow together. I ask for your continued guidance and encouragement.”
Maiko Kano, born on 15th July 1988 in Tokyo, boasts an impressive career.
She joined the national team in 2009, represented Japan in the 2012 London Olympics, and clinched a bronze medal—the team’s first Olympic medal in 28 years.
She retired in 2018 and later pursued a career in entertainment.
Akito Kiriyama, born on 31st August 1989 in Osaka, debuted with WEST. in 2014.
Known for his acting roles in Gokusen and Gekikaradou, he has built a successful career on both stage and screen.
