Yu Zheng Denies and Strikes Back at Zhao Lusi Assault Allegations
Renowned Chinese producer and director Yu Zheng has firmly denied accusations linking him to an alleged assault incident involving actress Zhao Lusi in 2019.
The claims stemmed from a revelation by Zhao Lusi's friend, who alleged the actress faced physical, emotional, and verbal abuse from her former agency.
As the founder of Huanyu Entertainment and the man who gave Zhao Lusi her first big break, Yu Zheng was quickly drawn into the controversy.
Fans accused him of complicity in the abuse.
However, Yu Zheng took to his Weibo account to issue a blunt clarification, stating he was unaware of the incident.

"What does this have to do with me? Why am I being targeted online? I don’t even know who hit whom," Yu Zheng wrote.
To underscore his innocence, Yu Zheng emphasised his role in Zhao Lusi's career, revealing that he cast her in Untouchable Lovers without an audition.
He also highlighted his efforts to recommend Zhao Lusi for roles before her rise to fame.
"I supported her before she became popular. Now, why am I being dragged into this mess?" Yu Zheng lamented.
The outspoken producer declared he would no longer endorse other artists.
