Egashira 2:50 and Mei Nagano's Scene Cut from TVer Sparks Outrage

Egashira and Mei Nagano 2:50’s Scene Cut from TVer Sparks Outrage

Japanese comedy gone too far sometimes.

The latest broadcast of All-Star Kanshasai '25 Spring on 29th March has stirred up controversy after TVer completely removed comedian Egashira 2:50’s segment from its streaming version.

Fans online are furious, calling it the most entertaining part of the show.

Egashira, known for his wild antics, appeared in the "Akasaka 5-chome! Mermaid Challenge" segment, initially dressed in a turtle costume.

However, after being teased by host Koji Imada, he ripped off the costume, revealing his signature half-naked look.

What followed was classic Egashira chaos—he charged at fellow celebrities, causing havoc across the studio.

His main target?

Actress Mei Nagano, starring in the upcoming Sunday Theatre: Caster

The 19-year-old tried to escape, but Egashira chased her around, shouting her name.

The scene escalated when studio staff had to physically restrain him.

Nagano Mei, clearly shaken, was seen crying—an image that quickly went viral on social media.

But when fans rushed to TVer to rewatch the madness, they were shocked to find Egashira’s entire segment cut.

Comments flooded in: "That was the highlight! How could they remove it?" and "Making an actress cry on live TV is just not okay." Others defended Egashira: "This is what makes him legendary!"

TVer has yet to comment on why the cut was made, but with Egashira’s rare TV appearances, fans are already demanding unedited footage.

Will TBS respond? Or is this another case of TV sanitising raw entertainment?

Update:

Japanese comedian Egashira 2:50 update his YouTube channel and apologised for his behavior during the TBS program "All-Star Thanksgiving '25 Spring" that aired on March 29.

His part in the show had caused controversy, and he is sorry if he hurt Nagano Mei's feelings.

He also explained that he had not realized that Nagano had been crying until his performance was over. He also said it was not scripted, he acted on his own judgment and said TBS is not to blame. It's all his fault.
