Igarashi Shunji ties the knot at Cinderella Castle!

Former actor Igarashi Shunji, known for his lead role in Ultraman Mebius and appearances in Ikemen Paradise and ROOKIES, has officially announced his marriage.

"I got married. This might be the first time I'm saying it publicly," the 38-year-old shared.

The proposal? Straight out of a fairytale. "My wife loves Disney, so I put the ring on her finger in front of Cinderella Castle," he revealed.

Igarashi Shunji shocked fans when he retired from the entertainment industry in 2013 at just 27.

Since then, he made headlines for gaining over 40kg, but he’s been focusing on meaningful work.

Now based in his hometown of Nagano, he runs employment support businesses for people with disabilities.

A recent interview on NO MAKE shed light on his journey. In June 2024, he co-founded Ultramarine, followed by Mebius Marine in October, both aimed at helping individuals develop programming skills and communication abilities for mainstream employment.

During the interview, keen-eyed staff noticed his wedding ring and asked about it.

That’s when Igarashi spilled the news, adding, "My wife isn’t bothered by my weight gain at all. Her favourite Disney characters? Baymax and Sulley from Monsters, Inc.. So I think I’m exactly her type!" he laughed.

When asked whether he’s happier now or during his acting days, his answer was clear: "Now, without a doubt. I have a wonderful wife and two adorable dogs. At 38, I’ve found the joy of homemade meals! So please, stop expecting me to lose weight—I’m truly content!" he grinned.
