Zhao Lusi is making waves with her upcoming reality show "Little Courage" (小小的勇气), which she not only proposed herself but is also filming for free.
Set to air on Mango TV at the end of this month, the show follows her heartfelt journey as she interacts with children in remote areas, bringing hope and inspiration.
The idea for the show stems from her difficult personal struggles.
At the end of 2024, while filming "Almost Lover", Zhao Lusi suffered a severe health crisis, including depression and aphasia, leaving her unable to speak or walk properly.
She was rushed to the emergency room in December and had to take a break from work to recover.
During her healing process, Zhao Lusi found strength in three words: "faith, courage, and work."
These became her guiding principles and led her to create "Little Courage", a show designed to inspire others facing hardships.
She believes that courage is the key to overcoming challenges, which is why she is determined to keep things raw and authentic—going makeup-free and refusing any payment.
Despite still being in recovery, Zhao Lusi is fully dedicated to the show.
She even admitted, "I shouldn’t be able to shoot," acknowledging her ongoing health concerns.
However, she is pushing through for the children, hoping to share genuine moments of happiness and resilience with both them and the audience.
Meanwhile, uncertainty looms over "Almost Lover".
Since her illness halted production, the drama has yet to resume filming.
Rumours are swirling that Zhao Lusi may want out of her contract, with sources suggesting she faced difficulties with multiple script revisions and an often-absent director, Deng Ke.
These constant changes reportedly left her mentally and physically exhausted, raising speculation that the project may not continue.
For now, fans are eagerly awaiting official updates about the fate of "Almost Lover."
But one thing is clear—Zhao Lusi’s dedication to "Little Courage" proves her resilience, making her an inspiration both on and off screen.
