If you’ve been anywhere near TikTok in the last year, chances are you’ve heard that dreamy track “blue” floating through your FYP. Well, get ready to hear it live – Canadian-Chinese indie sensation yung kai is officially coming to Kuala Lumpur for the very first time!
The 22-year-old artist just dropped the big news on Instagram with a predictably chaotic caption (“ASIA IM COMING BACKKKKKSNDJJW”) – and fans are already losing it.
His KL show is part of the “flower, moon and star tour”, and it’s happening on 27 August 2025 (Wednesday), 8pm at The Platform, Menara KEN TTDI.
Organised by Live Nation Malaysia, the one-night-only gig promises a cosy, emotional, and properly romantic night – expect candlelit vibes and lots of swaying arms in the crowd.
If you’ve cried to “blue” on repeat or had it on loop during your late-night walks, this one’s going to hit different.
Since breaking out in 2022 from his bedroom studio in Toronto, yung kai’s gone from soft-spoken indie kid to global viral star.
“blue” alone has racked up over 300 million Spotify streams and 100 million views on YouTube – not bad for a song that started out as a quiet upload on SoundCloud. His lyrics?
Poetic heartbreak, existential musing, and those little moments that make you feel everything all at once. Basically, he's the soundtrack to your feels.
