Former NCT and WayV member Lucas Huang Xuxi is making a fresh start in his career, this time as an actor.
After a few years away from the spotlight due to personal controversies, Lucas is stepping into the world of Taiwanese drama with his very first acting project.
In a recent interview, Lucas shared his excitement and gratitude for this new opportunity.
“I’m super excited and really thankful to the director and production team for giving me this chance. This is my first time acting, so I’m really nervous! But thankfully, the director, crew, and coaches have given me so much helpful advice, which has been crucial in preparing for this role,” he said.
Lucas also expressed his hopes that fans would look forward to this new chapter in his career and show their support for his acting debut.
Previously, Lucas was known as one of the popular idols in K-pop as a member of NCT and WayV, before taking a break in August 2021 following a personal scandal.
He officially left NCT and WayV in May 2023, opting to embark on a solo career.
In addition to his acting debut, Lucas Huang has been preparing for various upcoming projects in Taiwan.
His schedule has been packed with acting, dance, body movement, and even boxing training.
He shared his love for Taiwan, praising the warmth of the Taiwanese people and expressing his fondness for local food like lu rou fan (braised pork rice) and Taiwanese hot pot.
Moreover, Lucas Huang revealed that he’s taken up learning the guitar, something he’s always wanted to do.

“I think it’s so cool to be able to play and sing at the same time. I’ve never had the chance before, but now I’m finally learning. I’m still a beginner, but I’ll do my best and hope to play and sing for everyone someday,” he said.
As for his first Taiwanese drama, Lucas couldn’t hide his excitement.
“I’m really happy and thankful for the opportunity,” he said.
“It’s my first time acting, so I’m really nervous! But the director, crew, and coaches have been so supportive in preparing me. I’m giving it my all, and I hope everyone will look forward to it.”
Lucas also took the opportunity to express his admiration for Taiwanese cinema.
While doing research for his role, he watched the Taiwanese crime film Zhou Chu Eliminates the Three Harmful Acts, which left a lasting impression on him.
When asked about collaborating with Taiwanese actors, he mentioned his admiration for actor Hsu Kuo-han.
“He’s someone I’d love to work with. I’ve heard so many great things about him, especially his performance in the Korean drama. He’s super cool!” Lucas added.
After releasing a solo single last year, Lucas Wong has been dedicating himself fully to his training.
He apologised to fans for not being active on social media, explaining, “I’ve been focusing on preparing for filming, so I haven’t had the chance to interact much. I’m really sorry, but I hope you’ll look forward to my upcoming work. I’m doing my best, and I can’t wait to show you all!”
This marks Lucas’s first major project in Taiwan, and he hopes the local fans will enjoy his debut drama.
He also expressed his desire to continue growing as an actor and share his journey with his supporters.
“Thank you so much for your continued support!” he concluded.
Fans are eagerly awaiting Lucas’s return to the public eye, this time in a new role as an actor, and his upcoming projects are sure to be one to watch.
