Former HKT48 sweetheart Tomonaga Mio has officially announced her marriage – and fans are both surprised and thrilled.
The 26-year-old shared the happy update on her X (formerly Twitter) account, revealing she's tied the knot with programmer Yamauchi Souto.
In her heartfelt message to fans and colleagues, Mio wrote (translated from Japanese):
“This might be a sudden announcement, but I’ve registered my marriage with Yamauchi Souto, whom I’ve been dating for some time. Thanks to the many people who’ve supported and cheered me on, I’ve become who I am today. I’m truly grateful. Since meeting him, I’ve learned what it means to love, to feel warmth, and to be happy with someone special. Each day is full of kindness. I’ll continue to do my best with work, so please keep supporting me.”

Souto Yamauchi. Born in Tokyo in 2001. Self-taught in programming from the age of 10, he won the top prize in the under 15 division of the International Ruby Programming Contest for Junior and Senior High School Students in 2012. Founded the current company WED Co., Ltd. in 2016. In 2018, he released "ONE," a shopping app that gives you money, and in the same year was selected in two categories for Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018.
