Josei Jisin has revealed that actress Hashimoto Kanna (26) and actor Nakagawa Taishi (26) have ended their relationship after two and a half years of dating.
Their romance, once seen as a model celebrity couple since it was first reported back in October 2022, seems to have quietly fizzled out behind the scenes.
The two reportedly started drifting apart late last year, even after Nakagawa Taishi had proposed during the summer of 2023.
Although the engagement didn’t go through, things looked positive in October when the couple were spotted enjoying a low-key date in Shimonoseki.
However, sources now say that Hashimoto eventually turned down the proposal, and their bond gradually faded from there.
Recently, Kanna has thrown herself headfirst into work.
She's gearing up for the lead role in the upcoming TV Asahi drama “Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte,” where she portrays a doctor for the first time in her career.
Dressed in a white coat, she even made a surprise appearance at Showa University’s entrance ceremony on 9 April, smiling and waving to excited freshmen.

Kanna Hashimoto Turns Down Proposal, Ends Relationship with Taishi Nakagawa |
According to industry insiders, her motivation stems from personal struggles.
“She’s been pushing hard since her relationship with Nakagawa began to cool. It seems she’s now focusing on herself and her career,” one source shared.
Meanwhile, Nakagawa appears to be adjusting just fine. Back in early March, he was reportedly seen attending a drinking party with fellow entertainers — and unfamiliar women.

Sources describe it as similar to a group date setting, with Nakagawa looking relaxed and even showing interest in one of the attendees.
While it’s not clear whether this gathering happened during or after the breakup, the timing is curious.
Kanna Hashimoto had just wrapped up a fan club event and hadn’t yet started filming her drama — a time they might’ve spent together if things were still going well.
Adding to the narrative, Nakagawa recently shared his thoughts on love via his radio show blog “Connected Base” on FM NACK5.

Responding to a listener who asked about finding romance, he wrote: “Maybe it’s not something you can force… just meet different people, look for the good in them. That’s how you might find someone special.”
The blog was updated in February 2025, suggesting his mindset had already shifted. Whether this was just life advice or a glimpse into his own emotional state remains open to interpretation.
Hashimoto, on the other hand, has had a bumpy road professionally.
She was previously hit with power harassment allegations in October, and her recent NHK asadora “Omusubi” recorded one of the lowest average viewership ratings in the franchise’s history at just 13.1%.
Despite the setbacks, she’s remained resolute.
In a January 2024 interview with VoCE, Hashimoto reflected on life’s unpredictability: “It’s precisely because we don’t know how things will turn out that life is interesting. I try not to think about failure when making decisions, and I won’t regret them even if they go wrong.”
Neither Hashimoto nor Nakagawa’s management agencies have provided a comment regarding the breakup or the drinking party.
While Nakagawa Taishi seems ready for a new chapter, Hashimoto Kanna’s at a turning point. Her decision to end the relationship could prove to be a pivotal step — one that leads her to greater independence, growth, and perhaps new love in time.
