IDOLS MAKE IDOLS PROJECT: Ex-Idols Unite to Build the Next Big Thing

IDOLS MAKE IDOLS PROJECT: Ex-Idols Unite to Build the Next Big Thing

There’s a new wave stirring up the idol world, and this time it’s being led by those who’ve already been through it. A brand-new project titled IDOLS MAKE IDOLS PROJECT has officially launched — and it’s exactly what it sounds like.

This isn’t your usual audition drama.

What makes this one stand out is who’s running the show.

The first group to come out of this project will be fully crafted by ex-idols themselves — no suits, no big agencies pulling the strings. Just girls who’ve lived the idol life now giving it their own spin.

Taking the producer seat is Rika Sasaki, once a member of Ange☆Reve. She knows what it takes to be in the spotlight, and now she’s shaping the next generation of stars.

Costumes?

Handled by Haruna Sato, formerly of Idol College. That means expect stage looks with flair, comfort, and proper idol spirit — designed by someone who’s worn them all.

Choreography is in the hands of Pinky (Ayane Fujisaki), who lit up stages with Dempagumi.inc.

She's bringing the same quirky, high-energy style to this fresh batch of hopefuls.

Even the artwork’s got a familiar touch — Ayame Okada, known for her time in Nijicon, is creating the visual vibe.

She’s putting a whole new aesthetic spin on what an idol group can look like.

So, what’s the plan?

They're not just building a group — they're building an idea. A full-on reimagination of what idols could be in today’s world.

They want to show the reality of girls living and dreaming in the now — and help them shine in a way that feels real, not just manufactured.

IDOLS MAKE IDOLS PROJECT - Auditions

Auditions for the first group have already kicked off as of 13 April. They’re looking for girls aged 13 to 27, available to be active on weekdays and public holidays.

Doesn’t matter if you’re still in school — you just need your guardian’s OK if you're underage.

If you live far from Tokyo, be ready to move if you get selected. This isn’t a side hustle — they want full commitment.

The application window is open until 11 May, so there’s still time to shoot your shot.

Music-wise, they’re also pulling in top-tier creators from the idol world.

Nothing off the shelf — this is proper, made-for-you music. It’s shaping up to be a full package deal, from vocals to visuals.

The whole vibe of this project? Passion. Grit. And a bit of rebellion. It’s ex-idols doing it their way, not to relive their glory days, but to pass the flame.

It’s about time someone flipped the script — and it looks like these women just might pull it off.
