In the Name of Blossom: Yang Zi and Li Xian Return for Flourished Peony Season 2

Flourished Peony Season 2 Confirmed: Premieres July or August 2025
In the Name of Blossom Gets Release Date and 24-Episode Run

After what feels like an eternity (alright, just a few months), our fave Tang Dynasty power couple is back! The hit costume drama formerly known as Flourished Peony Season 2 has now officially blossomed into a fresh new title – In the Name of Blossom – and it’s gearing up for its grand release this summer.

That’s right, Yang Zi and Li Xian are reuniting for another round of emotional rollercoasters, secret love, and palace power plays – and fans are absolutely buzzing.

The drama has secured its broadcast licence, with a confirmed run of 24 episodes. The airing is expected on Mango TV and Hunan Satellite TV sometime in July or August 2025, so better keep your qipaos ready.

The story picks up right where we left off: He Weifang (played by Yang Zi) is thriving in the bustling city of Chang’an.

Her family business, Fang Garden, has bloomed into a prosperous trade and cultural hub. But it’s not all pretty peonies and profit – there’s a storm of politics and personal trials ahead.

Jiang Changyang (Li Xian), the dashing “Flower-and-Bird Envoy” of the capital, remains right by her side, navigating the tricky tides of national service and royal intrigue.

As their partnership deepens, so does their emotional connection – a quiet, hidden love growing in the shadows of duty.

But the upcoming season won’t just tug at your heartstrings – it’ll rip them out and throw them to the wind.

Rumour has it we’ll witness intense moments like Jiang faking his death to bring down a corrupt royal rival (yes, fake death trope incoming), and He Weifang facing painful family truths that may break her… or make her stronger than ever.

In the Name of Blossom isn’t just a love story – it’s a tale of ambition, honour, legacy, and rebirth.

And with the original cast returning (hello again Zhang Yaqin, Wei Zheming, and the gang), the vibe promises to be just as visually lush and emotionally gripping as Season 1.

Back when Season 1 (Flourished Peony) aired in early 2025, it quickly became a fan favourite despite some minor controversy over costume designs.

Now, with a new name and even higher stakes, this second instalment could well outshine its predecessor.

One thing’s for sure – if you loved Yang Zi and Li Xian’s chemistry in Go Go Squid and you’ve been starving for more period romance with real depth, In the Name of Blossom might just be your next obsession.

Mark your calendars. The blossom returns this summer.
