Yu Zheng Accidentally Outs Relationship Amid Online Drama

Chinese actor Liu Yichang and actress Li Muchen have officially been revealed as a couple—and not by their own doing.

The news was accidentally confirmed by none other than controversial producer Yu Zheng, following a messy episode involving Wu Jinyan’s husband, Hong Yao.

The drama all started when Liu Yichang took to his burner Weibo account, accusing Hong Yao of crossing the line with his girlfriend, saying, “Hong, behave, you're married. Don't go around inviting people. Going after an invite is also interesting.”

That vague but loaded comment set the internet on fire.

Speculations about an affair spread like wildfire, dragging both Hong Yao and Li Muchen into the eye of the storm.

Netizens didn’t hold back, demanding clarification on what exactly happened between the married actor and the rising short-drama queen.

In response, Yu Zheng, who manages both Hong Yao and Li Muchen, stepped in to set the record straight. He explained that the supposed “private meet-up” was just a gathering for actor Zhang Danfeng’s birthday party.

According to him, Li Muchen had asked Hong Yao if he was going, and when he said yes, she simply asked for the address. She attended the party briefly, then left.

Realising he’d jumped the gun, Liu Yichang issued a public apology to Hong Yao for acting on impulse without knowing the full context.

To his credit, Hong Yao handled it with grace, urging fans not to feed into the chaos and to let baseless rumours die down.

However, the real plot twist came when Yu Zheng, while trying to defend his artist, casually let it slip that Li Muchen and Liu Yichang are dating—something the couple had never publicly confirmed.

Yu Zheng’s Clarification Makes Things Worse

Fans were left stunned, with many questioning whether he had any right to make that info public.

Li Muchen later broke her silence, issuing a heartfelt apology. She explained that she was working all night and didn’t see Yu Zheng’s messages right away.

She also cleared up the timeline, saying it was actually Hong Yao who asked if she was going to the party, not the other way around.

She confirmed there were many other actors present, and conversations were casual, revolving around work. She also revealed that Liu Yichang posted the accusatory message without telling her.

Though she immediately asked him to delete it, the damage had already been done.

Li apologised again, saying, “The one who got hurt the most in all this is Teacher Hong Yao. If I’m lying, may I be struck by lightning.”

Fans flooded her comments with support but also expressed concern about her relationship with Liu, especially his impulsive online behaviour.

To close the chapter, Yu Zheng offered a personal apology to Li Muchen.

He said he didn’t know she was still filming until the morning and admitted he was rash with his earlier words.

“You’re a great actress, and we still have collaborations planned. I believe in you,” he wrote.

So, what started as a misunderstanding about a birthday party ended with a full-blown celebrity reveal, a string of public apologies, and one more couple added to China’s ever-watchful entertainment radar.

The Whole Drama at a Glance:

Li Muchen Cheating Scandal Dating Liu Yichang Hong Yao Yu Zheng

Liu Yichang and Li Muchen are a couple, but they never made it public. Things got messy when Liu, using a secret Weibo account, accused actor Hong Yao (who’s married to actress Wu Jinyan) of trying to privately meet Li Muchen. His post made it sound like Hong Yao was flirting or acting shady.

Naturally, this sparked cheating rumours and backlash online, especially because Hong is a married man.

Then, Yu Zheng, the famous and often controversial producer who manages Hong Yao, stepped in to clear the air. He explained it was all a misunderstanding: Li Muchen and Hong Yao were just attending a birthday party with other actors, not meeting up in secret.

While defending his actor, Yu Zheng accidentally confirmed that Li Muchen is dating Liu Yichang, a fact the couple never shared publicly. That revelation caused a second wave of gossip—this time about privacy, trust, and whether Yu Zheng had any right to say that.

Afterwards, Liu apologised to Hong Yao for his impulsive post. Hong accepted it and asked fans to calm down.

Li Muchen also apologised—to Hong Yao and to Yu Zheng—for the trouble caused and for not responding earlier due to her work schedule. She confirmed she asked Liu to delete the post right away, but the damage was done.
