Hong Kong actor Ruco Chan Chin-pang (陳展鵬) may be tough on screen, but when it comes to his daughter “Little Piggy” (小豬比) – real name Chan Nuo Yiu (陳諾瑤) – he’s a total softie.
Over the weekend (5th), Ruco and his wife Phoebe Sin (單文柔) joined a family day at a theme park with other celeb parents and their kids, hosted by Po Leung Kuk.
Fellow stars like Benjamin Yuen and Bowie Cheung with their baby boy “Yuen Gulu”, Crystal Liu and Chow Git Pui with their children, actress Che Wan Wan with son BBQ, and Eric Suen’s wife Fang Cui Shan with their son also showed up for the fun day out.
Ruco wasn’t just there for the rides – he brought along big lessons for his 6-year-old daughter too.
He shared how he’s been teaching her the importance of respect, especially towards people with different backgrounds or abilities.

“Some kids have both parents, some may have lost theirs. Some might be disabled, but they’re still strong and capable,” he said. “I want her to know being healthy is already a blessing.”
Phoebe chimed in, saying that Little Piggy has been helping them sponsor underprivileged children since she was small. “She didn’t understand it at first,” she said, “but gradually she’s learning the meaning behind it.”
Apparently, convincing her to part with her red packet (lai see) money wasn’t easy at first.
Ruco Chan joked that she was confused about why her cash had to go anywhere, but after a bit of explaining, she happily joined in with mum and dad to help others.
And what better reward than a day out in what Phoebe calls a “magical world”?
Ruco Chan revealed that Little Piggy even celebrated her birthday at the theme park.

“She loves it here,” he laughed, adding that she’s obsessed with the princesses.
Phoebe said they’re now trying to gently steer her towards liking other cartoon characters too – not just princesses 24/7.
Asked if their home’s full of princess dresses, Phoebe laughed: “We keep it moderate. If she behaves well, she gets rewarded. She loves the lively vibe – it really feels like a fairytale to her.”
Ruco, ever the playful dad, didn’t mind getting silly. Last time they were at the park, he wore a stuffed turtle on his shoulder – apparently at his daughter’s request.
“I just get into the mood,” he said with a grin.
“No matter how old you are, you can still play and be happy. And with our girl around, we just go with whatever makes her smile.”
Phoebe teased him gently: “No bottom line when it comes to the daughter, right?”
“Yeah,” Ruco admitted, “I don’t have much of an image to protect anymore. I’m just learning to be natural and chill.”
With a new drama lined up soon, Ruco said he’s making the most of the time he has now to hang out with family. “Work comes and goes, but moments like these with them? Priceless.”
