The Japanese actor-slash-heartthrob is set to hold his 2025 Asia Tour Fan Meeting in Malaysia on 4 June at Jiospace, Kuala Lumpur. Known for his quiet magnetism and soul-stirring performances, Kentaro’s visit promises fans a rare chance to see him live, up close, and personal.
From catwalks to tearjerkers
Sakaguchi Kentaro first caught eyes as a model for Men’s Non-no, before making an effortless transition into acting — and the rest, as they say, is history.
His breakout in Heroine Shikkaku and Ore Monogatari!! (both in 2015) turned him into one of Japan’s most sought-after rising stars, bagging Best New Actor at the 11th Osaka Cinema Festival.
By 2016, he proved he wasn’t just a pretty face with back-to-back standout roles in 64: Part I and II, which earned him Newcomer of the Year at the 40th Japan Academy Film Prize.
And he’s kept the momentum going: from the romantic fantasy The 100th Love with You (2017) to the tearjerking We Made a Beautiful Bouquet (2021), and the gripping TV series Signal (2018), Kentaro’s range only continues to deepen.
More recently, he’s been going international — starring in the moving 2022 drama The Last 10 Years, and making waves in Korea with his 2024 K-drama debut What Comes After Love.
That role, as the cross-cultural romantic lead Jungo Aoki, earned him Best Actor and Asia Star Award at the 2024 Asia Artist Awards (AAA).
Oh, and speaking of AAA — Malaysian fans might remember his lovely appearance at the 2023 edition held in Bulacan, where he walked away with both Best Artist and Asia Celebrity Awards. Safe to say, he’s no stranger to Southeast Asia love.
