J-Pop idol group .LiNⅨLiNE. has announced today, 4 April 2025, that founding member Usui Hakuri has officially graduated from the group.
This news comes unexpectedly for fans, especially with the group only recently gearing up for their big return following a months-long hiatus.
According to the official statement from management, the decision was made after thorough discussions, with the conclusion that Usuo Hakuri could no longer continue group activities under current circumstances.
.LiNⅨLiNE., pronounced "Link Line", is a four-member J-pop/EDM idol group formed on 20 November 2022.
The group made their debut live performance less than a month later on 13 December 2022.
Known for their stylish blend of electronic beats and pop melodies, their concept revolves around the idea of “where dots and lines intersect.”
Hakuri had been with the group since its inception, performing alongside fellow founding member Hoshisaki Ayane.
The group went on hiatus in late February 2024 and launched new member auditions shortly after, keeping fans in anticipation.
On 23 May 2024, the group announced their comeback via Twitter, with their next live set for 8 August 2024.
Two new members, Misora Sui and Tsukikage Rei, were revealed on 15 July 2024 and are expected to debut at the same comeback event.
The timing of Hakuri's graduation has certainly caught many off-guard, especially with .LiNⅨLiNE.'s upcoming activities just around the corner.
The official statement apologised to fans and stakeholders for the sudden nature of the announcement, stating that while Hakuri had a strong desire to keep performing with all four members, it was important to prioritise the future and well-being of everyone involved.
Hakuri Usui also shared a heartfelt comment, expressing deep gratitude to fans, her fellow members, and everyone she met during her journey.
“These past two years have been unforgettable and filled with happiness,” she wrote. “I’m sorry I can’t say goodbye or thank you in person. I’ll be cheering on .LiNⅨLiNE. from afar.”
The group will now continue as a trio consisting of Hoshisaki Ayane, Tsukikage Rei, and Misora Sui.
Details regarding refunds for event tickets and cheki/photo session passes will be provided by management soon.
Despite the bittersweet news, fans have been flooding social media with messages of support for both Hakuri and the remaining members. Many are looking forward to seeing how .LiNⅨLiNE. evolves from here.
