Wagamama Rakia Announce Disbandment, Final Concert Set for 9 July

Wagamama Rakia to Disband After Nearly a Decade Together
Wagamama Rakia to Part Ways After Final Zepp Haneda Live

Alternative idol group Wagamama Rakia have officially announced they’re hanging up their mics this summer, with their final one-man live scheduled for 9 July 2025 at Zepp Haneda in Tokyo.

The announcement dropped on April 19 via their official website, catching many fans off guard.

But the group’s heartfelt statement made it clear: this isn’t about drama or bad blood.

It’s about evolution, growth, and knowing when to wrap things up on their own terms.

“All of us have been giving our all to Wagamama Rakia,” the members shared in a joint message, “but we’ve come to feel there’s a ceiling to how far we can go within the current system.”

Rather than risk burning out or going through the motions, they’ve decided to end the group while it still feels true to them.

That decision didn’t come lightly.

According to the group, they’ve had countless conversations reflecting on where they want to go next – as artists, as individuals, as people.

And after nearly a decade together, they’re choosing to sprint full force toward their final moments, rather than coast into a slow fade.

“We’re not breaking apart – we’re just moving forward,” they said. “Dragging things out wouldn’t be very ‘Wagamama Rakia’ of us. So we’ll give it everything until the end, and use this time to connect to our next chapters.”

The current four-member lineup – Minami Hoshikuma, Rin Kaine, L, and MIRI – has been in place since 2019.

They’ve weathered lineup changes, grown their sound from alt-idol to genre-blending fire, and earned serious respect for their raw, powerful performances.

Formed back in 2016 in Osaka, Wagamama Rakia became known for pushing the idol boundaries.

Their mix of hard-edged music and emotionally charged lyrics made them stand out in a crowded scene. It’s the end of a wild, unforgettable ride.

The members also made a point to thank fans, staff, and everyone who’s been part of their journey.

“We’re endlessly grateful,” they said.

“Please stay with us until that final moment – and beyond. We’re still a team, no matter where we go from here.”

The Zepp Haneda show is sure to be a full-tilt emotional night – one final storm before the calm.

If you’ve ever been a part of the Rakia journey, you won’t want to miss it.

So here’s to Wagamama Rakia – bold to the end.
