| NMB48's Yamamoto Mikana Shocks Fans with Graduation News |
NMB48’s Yamamoto Mikana surprised everyone by announcing her graduation during her birthday stage at the NMB48 Theater in Osaka.
Fans had gathered to celebrate her 23rd birthday, but instead, they were met with unexpected news.
She revealed that she would be leaving the group in the summer, though specific details are yet to be announced.
However, she assured fans that she will participate in all scheduled Chuu Strike events before her departure.
Mikana, who joined NMB48 in 2018 through the 3rd AKB48 Group Draft, was initially selected for Team BII before transitioning to Team M.
Known for her doll-like visuals, she quickly became a key figure in the group.
She first entered the senbatsu lineup in 2019 with Tokonoma Seiza Musume and remained a standout presence ever since.
Beyond her idol career, Mikana has also made strides in acting and modeling.
She starred in the drama Idol Shikkaku last year and has walked the KANSAI COLLECTION runway for four consecutive years since 2021.
Her sudden announcement left fellow members stunned. NMB48’s Sakata Saku, reacting on social media, wrote, “Mikana-san… April Fool’s is already over…” with a crying emoji, expressing her heartbreak.
As the first NMB48 original member from Yamaguchi Prefecture, Mikana has left a significant mark on the group.
Interestingly, before joining NMB48, she had auditioned for STU48 and HKT48 but was not accepted.
While her graduation will mark the end of an era, fans can still look forward to her final activities in the group.
